Campus.UBMG - Higher Education is an educational institution that deserves special attention from the Government. Because this university has an important role in creating quality human resources that will build this nation and region. This was confirmed by the Mayor of Gorontalo, Dr. Marten A. Taha, SE, M.Ec, Dev, at the Party of the Alumni Association of University of Bina Mandiri (UBM) Gorontalo and Postgraduate UNBITA Gorontalo held at Graha Azizah, Tuesday (27/12/22).
"Higher education is an institution that deserves attention from all of us, because it is a source of quality human resources who will build this nation together, and I think University of Bina Mandiri has shown this role so far. as well as Bina Taruna University.” said the Mayor.
According to Marten Taha, University of Bina Mandiri and Unbita Gorontalo have shown their existence in developing regions by creating quality human resources. In fact, said the Mayor, this university opens study programs that are not available at other universities so that students are easily absorbed in the job market.
"If all the tertiary institutions in one region or region have the same study program, it will be difficult for the alumni or graduates to be able to enter the world of work, because surely the alumni will be abundant with concentrations on the same study program. In contrast to what I have observed, University of Bina Mandiri is always opens rare study programs that doesn't exist or yet at other universities so that it is easy for alumni to enter the world of work.” Marten Taha said.
Chairman of the Gorontalo Bina Mandiri Foundation, Dr. Ir. Azis Rachman, ST, MM, IPM said, to meet technological developments which are currently continuing to develop, his party has opened study programs or study programs that are not owned by other tertiary institutions. An example is the bachelor degree (S1) educational technology study program, where this study program does not exist in three regions, be it North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi or universities in Gorontalo.
"Earlier, the mayor had conveyed messages that tertiary institutions must be able to innovate, be creative, including how to open study programs or new fields of knowledge, which are in accordance with the needs of the times. We know that currently technology is so sophisticated that it is developing rapidly, so right now human needs are also growing, therefore we have released many study programs, both at UBM and UNBITA, and we have opened one of them, for example this year we have opened a faculty of education and culture which in it are study programs that are not available at other tertiary institutions, for example, this educational technology study program is not available in three regions, namely North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi and Gorontalo." Aziz said.
"Then this special education study program is for generations who want to become teachers with special education. I only have it at UMB, as well as business law, which so far has a degree in law, but business law between the fields of law and business studies is at Unbita." he added.
Meanwhile, UBM Rector Dr. Titin Dunggio, M.SI, M.Kes, said that the opening of a new study program at University of Bina Mandiri Gorontalo is a rare and renewable study program needed by government and private agencies.
"Just like the only remark that was delivered by the mayor, that if we are in the existing strategic plan, indeed in the opening of the study programs there are rare study programs that are still renewable in the province of Gorontalo, so this is expected with the study program what is rare is that these alumni will of course be quickly absorbed into the job market, because of course the program we are opening is a program needed by the institution.” said the Rector of UBM.
Titin Dunggio added that one of the study programs that is urgently needed by both government and private institutions at University of Bina Mandiri Gorontalo is the health analysis study program, hospital administration and special education study program. It is hoped that with this new and renewable study program, alumni can be scattered in the workforce.
"So we have health analysts, then there is hospital administration, there is special education in the program that we run, so our hope is that these students will be easily absorbed later in the job market." she hope. (RA)
