The Mayor of Gorontalo Appreciates the Progress of UBM and PPs Unbita Gorontalo

Campus.UBMG - The Mayor of Gorontalo, Marten A. Taha, appreciated and proud of the progress made by University of Bina Mandiri (UBM) Gorontalo, and the Postgraduate Program (PPs) of University Bina Taruna Gorontalo. The two tertiary institutions were able to produce quality Human Resources (HR) that are absorbed by the job market.

Appreciation for the progress of UBM and PPs Unbita Gorontalo was conveyed by Marten Taha while attending a gathering of the Bina Mandiri University of Gorontalo Alumni Association and PPs Bina Taruna Gorontalo University at Graha Azizah, Gorontalo City, Tuesday (27/12/2022).

β€œUniversity of Bina Mandiri and the Bina Taruna Gorontalo Postgraduate Program have produced useful and quality human resources. Many graduates of UBM and Unbita are work in various government and private agencies and are scattered in Gorontalo and outside the Gorontalo area," said Marten Taha.

According to the Mayor of Gorontalo for the two periods, the large number of graduates/alumni of UBM and PPs Unbita Gorontalo who were absorbed in the world of work could not be separated from the innovations carried out by the UBM academic community and PPs Unbita Gorontalo. Mainly in opening study programs that are unique and rare (not available in other universities).

"We appreciate and are proud of the innovation of University of Bina Mandiri Gorontalo and the Bina Taruna University Postgraduate Program which opened a unique and rare study program. Apart from being able to produce quality human resources, this innovation also allows alumni to be absorbed," said Marten Taha.

Furthermore, Marten Taha revealed that the existence of a tertiary institution is not only supported by academic processes and activities within the campus environment. But it is also supported by the role and presence of alumni. The results of the study show that around 57 percent of the roles of alumni are involved in building the image and existence of higher education institutions.

"I hope that the alumni of University of Bina Mandiri Gorontalo and the Postgraduate Program of Bina Taruna Gorontalo University can maintain the good name of the university," said Marten Taha.

The Rector of University of Bina Mandiri Gorontalo, Dr. Titin Dunggio, M.Sc., M.Kes, stated that in line with the vision as Excellence, Professional and Globally institution, UBM Gorontalo continues to be committed to improving quality and quality. This step is not limited to the academic process, but also in producing graduates who are able to be absorbed by the world of work.

"Therefore, we are opening study programs that do not exist in other tertiary institutions and are adapted to the needs of the job market," said Titin Dungio.

The signing of the MoU on cooperation between UBM Gorontalo and a number of agencies for
Titin Dunggio added, UBM Gorontalo will continue to develop itself in an effort to contribute to the advancement of human resources. Especially graduates / alumni who are qualified and in accordance with the needs of the world of work.

"We have proposed opening several new study programs, which, In Syaa Allah, there will be no obstacles and they will be able to run in 2023. One of them is the Regional Government Administration Study Program," said Titin Dunggio.

The same thing was conveyed by the Chairman of the Bina Mandiri Gorontalo Foundation, Dr. Ir. Azis Rachman, M.M., I.P.M. According to him, UBM and the University of Bina Taruna Postgraduate Program will continue to innovate in responding to the demand for quality human resources. Because until now the enrollment rate for tertiary institutions is still very low. The situation is different from the enrollment rate at the Junior or Senior High School Level.

"Therefore, several excellent programs will be reopened at University of Bina Mandiri Β and PPs Bina Taruna University. One of them is Regional Government Administration, which we have not seen in other universities," said Azis Rachman.

The welcoming activity was attended by alumni and prospective graduates of the Bina Taruna University Postgraduate Program, and University of Bina Mandiri of Gorontalo. It is planned that as many as 231 graduates will undergo a graduation procession on December 29, 2022.

The activity was also filled with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between University of Bina Mandiri Gorontalo and PPs Unbita Gorontalo with several agencies. Among them are the Food and Drug Monitoring Center (BPOM) in Gorontalo, Bumi Panua Pohuwato Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Village Empowerment Service of North Gorontalo and MTS Gorontalo City. The MoU signing are doing bythe Rector of UBM Gorontalo, Titin Dunggio, and the Director of PPs at Bina Taruna University, Prof. Arifin Tahir, along with agency leaders. (hasan/gopos)
