The Rector of UBM Attends International Conference of Limboto Lake

Kampus.UBMG - Rector of University of Bina Mandiri  (UBM) Gorontalo, Dr. Hj. Titin Dunggio M.Si, M.Kes attended "The 1st International Conference on Limboto Lake" or the Limboto Lake International Conference, Monday (21/11/2022).

The activity which initiated by the Gorontalo District Government and the BAPPEDA Gorontalo Province is a series of activities for the Charisma Event Nusantara (KEN) Limboto Lake Enchantment Festival which took place at the Pentadio Resort Resto (Limboto Lake area).

After the implementation of the activity, Rector Titin Dunggio said that there were many things discussed at the conference. One of the environmental issues that must be seriously addressed in Gorontalo Province is the decline in water quality, silting of Limboto Lake, natural disasters, climate change, waste management, sanitation, energy, as well as forest destruction and changes in land cover.

"Therefore, it is necessary to take fast and strategic steps in dealing with our current environmental problems. Regardless of the various problems experienced, Gorontalo province has enormous potential for natural resources, especially the unique geological heritage," she said.

Rector Titin Dunggio was present with other higher education leaders, along with Forkopimda elements, provincial OPD heads of city districts. Keynote speaker Mrs. Hisanari Sugawara, Ph.D., Prof. Kasamatsu, Dr. Togu Pardede Bappenas RI, Dr. Asep Kurnia Permata from the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the UNESCO management agency, and Bappeda of Gorontalo Province.
