UBM Student Alliance Raises Funds for Cianjur Earthquake Victims

Campus.UBMG - An earthquake with 5.6 Sclae Richter that shook Cianjur Regency on Monday (21/11/2022), had a huge impact on the surrounding community. The vibrations from the Cianjur earthquake were even felt in the Jabodetabek area. As a result of this incident, based on data collected from the Cianjur Regency BPBD until 20.00 WIB, information was obtained that 162 people died, 362 people were injured, 13,784 refugees. Coupled with material losses in the form of damage to houses and buildings with details of 2,272 houses, 1 Islamic boarding school, 1 Cianjur Hospital, 4 government buildings, 3 units of educational facilities and 1 unit of worship facilities.

This has moved many parties to help ease the burden on the victims, including the students of University of Bina Mandiri (UBM) Gorontalo. These student alliances also participated in fundraising by taking to the streets.


Student representative, Ari Dwi Prasetyo E Mangge explained, this fundraising activity was centered at the end of the Jalan Dua Susun intersection (JDS).
"Bismillah, with a burning passion to help earthquake victims, we, the student alliance, intend to help disaster victims. This is a form of our concern for the disaster that has claimed the lives of more than one hundred people plus the material losses suffered by the victims," ​​he explained.
Meanwhile, Deputy Dean 1 of F-STIK, Arpin SKM, M.Kes appreciated this fundraising activity.


"Alhamdulillah, students have high social awareness and empathy. This is also a learning that students don't only learn in the classroom, but there are important things that students must have such as empathy, social awareness, values ​​about togetherness and helping each other," he explained.
