The Head of Nutrition Study Program UBM Gorontalo Invites the Community to Fight Stunting

Campus.UBMG - Growth period is one of the most important things in life, especially in entering childhood.

Lack of knowledge causes parents to pay less attention to child growth and development.

Even though the level of growth and development of children that is not in accordance with their age can be a sign of disease.

One of them is stunting, according to the Indonesian Minister of Health, stunting is a growth and development disorder in children caused by lack of nutritional intake, infection, and also inadequate stimulation.

This was conveyed by the Head of Nutrition Department of Bina Mandiri University (UBM) Gorontalo, Dr. Rita Aminiwarastuti M.Gz when carrying out Community Service (Abdimas) activities in North Huntu Village, South Bulango District.

Dr. Rita, invited the community to get involved in reducing the number and preventing stunting. She also educated the community about the condition of stunting in Indonesia.

In addition, she also explained the development of stunting conditions in Indonesia in recent years, the causes, impacts, and prevention of stunting that can be done by the community.

"Hopefully, with this education about stunting, it is hoped that the community can participate in preventing stunting from an early age and support government programs to achieve stunting prevalence rates in Indonesia," she hoped.

Also attending the event were Dr. Srikit Nurkamiden M.Kes, and students who accompanied the event.
