Humas UBM Gorontalo

Campus.UBMG - The academic world is expected to produce visionary leaders who are able to look into the future in order to position universities as pioneers of community renewal.

The academic world is also expected to be able to produce an innovative generation that always explores and experiments in order to develop high-value knowledge.

This was conveyed by the Vice Regent of Bone Bolango Regency, Dr. Merlan Uloli when providing Leadership Concept material in front of UBM students, Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

According to him, in the context of preparing the younger generation to become innovative leaders, the definition of leadership is the process of influencing the activities of a person or group of people in achieving organizational goals in a particular situation.

"Leadership is the ability of a person to influence people in their environment so that they are willing to achieve the desired goals. A leader must be able to inspire, influence, and motivate," said Wabup Merlan.

This further motivated the dozens of students who attended the lecture.

"A future leader is someone who can fulfill several aspects such as long-term thinking, looking out for a larger organization, influencing others besides their group, emphasizing on vision, values and motivation, clever in assessing the situation and being able to think in the context of change and renewal," she added.

On the other hand, the Dean of FEB, Dr. Darman M.Si, expressed his gratitude to Vice Regent Dr. Merlan who was willing to take the time to give a lecture to the students.

"Alhamdulillah, even though she was busy, she still took the time to attend and share her knowledge with the students. On behalf of the institution, thank you," he concluded.
